Hi there! Back in October, I got to visit Colorado to see our good ol’ friends (again). At my university, we recently added “Fall Break” to our academic calendar so we got 5 days total off from school (including the weekend). We jumped on Google flights and ended up finding tickets to Denver for under $100 round trip! Unable to say no to the extremely cheap airfare we headed back to Colorado for the third time. Our friend from back home came a day early, so we were in great company!
I’m so excited to share some of our adventures during our short trip to the mountains. I love being able to bring my DSLR along on trips and capture unforgettable moments. We ended up getting a lot done in the short time of our stay (3 days).
What We Did:
Green Mountain Hiking Trail
We hiked at Green Mountain Hiking Trail which is located in Lakewood, CO. The views were great because on one side you got to overlook Denver and other nearby cities and on the other side you could see Red Rocks Amphitheater and tons of mountain views. The hike itself was a little challenging (5/10) because of the heat, but I was easily motivated by my friends, the local bikers, and my Camelback!

Estes Park, CO
Our friend’s uncle has the cutest place in the mountains where we were lucky enough to stay for free! His place was built on 10-acres of land, so we were sure to make the most of it and its surroundings. This was also my first time being so far into the mountains that I needed wifi in order to do anything on my phone. It was fun to unplug and get lost in the mountains with my best buds.

Local Estes Park (a little service and more people)
We stopped at a cute deli shop named Scratch in Estes Park on our way back to Arvada. They served amazing hot + cold deli sandwiches with homemade bread. They have gluten free options and they also had amazing baked goods. I didn’t allow myself to buy any of the baked goods, but my sandwich and kettle chips were amazing!

New Terrain Brewing Co.
If you know me or follow me on social media, you’ll notice that I post a ton of food and drink pictures – I can’t help myself to be honest! This brewery is in Golden, CO which is one of my favorite cities in the Denver area. The views were amazing and the beer was even better. There were also Kombucha options, which I thought was great. Who doesn’t love a spot that serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks?! Enjoy the view and some beer pics!

Thrifting
I’ve always wanted to go thrifting in Colorado and I finally got the chance to this trip. My finds were amazing! I bought a pair of Merrell waterproof hiking boots for $9 and a purse from Zara for $5! I also got an $8 onesie for the concert because it was outdoors and v cold.
Red Rocks Amphitheater Show: Troyboi and G Jones
We ended our trip at our first Red Rocks show! Needless to say, it was amazing and the views made it a little hard to focus on just the music + light show. We didn’t get to take great pictures, but it was such a memorable experience I will never forget!
Picture me, in a grey mouse onesie and winter boots – Pretty funny, huh? I wasn’t the only person wearing one in case you were wondering and I was pleasantly surprised! We tailgated out in the parking lot with friends and had a blast. It was a much needed trip and I’m glad I got to experience it with Sean and our friends.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed!
Xx,
Toni
