I’m a little late with getting around to this post, but here’s a peek at our trip to visit some friends in California this past October.
Palm Springs
In Palm Springs, we spent lots of time by the pool and trying all the Mexican food we could eat. Next time we visit, I will probably create my own itinerary so I can see/do more like the wind turbines, the Palm Springs overlook tour, and a hiking.

Moorten Botanical Gardens
I originally found this spot on Instagram and it wasn’t far from where we were staying, so this was an easy thing to do during the day. It took us about 30-40 minutes to walk through the entire garden and well worth the $5. This spot is perfect for photos and learn more about the different cacti you may see around the state of California. They also have a few tortoises on site, so we got to watch them prance around too.

SoCal
We rented a car and drove from Palm Springs to Dana Point to stay with friends from college for a few days. During our time in SoCal, we spent as much time by the ocean as we could. To start off our first full day in Orange County, we spent our morning in Dana Point.
Dana Point

Laguna Beach
We were able to spend an afternoon in Laguna Beach lounging in the sand and then grabbing lunch at Nick’s Laguna.

San Clemente
The following day we spent our entire morning soaking in some vitamin D at San Clemente Beach! There were loads of surfers and it felt like the most perfect day.

Newport Beach
For our final night in SoCal, we drove to Newport Beach to watch the sunset. We sat on top of a large rock (which was scary at times) and enjoyed time with our friends. It was also cool to see Catalina Island from where we watched the sunset too.

Pictures did not do this trip justice and I am excited to plan our next trip there! So much to see and do. Have a great weekend, thanks for reading!
