Farm-to-Table: Brunching with Chef César at North Pond

Recently, I had the opportunity to eat at North Pond, which is ran by Executive Chef César Murillo, a recent Top Chef semi-finalist. While this Lincoln Park gem is known for its serene setting, we were there for one thing: the food. We were eager to experience the depth and creativity Chef César brings to the kitchen. From the moment our appetizer arrived at our table, it was clear that the reputation is well-deserved—this dining experience truly lived up to the hype and then some.

The three-course brunch offers a perfect opportunity to sample the talents of Chef César. The experience was enhanced by the attentive service and the privileged view we had of the kitchen—watching Chef César ‘work his magic’ added a fun layer to the meal. Despite the 3-course format, the portion sizing was perfectly balanced. It was truly an incredible experience!

After deliberating, I’ve decided that my favorite course was the appetizer. I really can’t explain the flavors that came with this experience, but you’ll just have to find out for yourself!
