Sean and I took a weekend trip to visit the sweet city of Frankfort. Frankfort is located in Northern Michigan along Lake Michigan. This city features a public beach, tons of cute shops, restaurants, and views for days. During our trip, we stayed at The Hotel Frankfort & Restaurant and I’m so glad that we did! I’ll share a little about my experience and why you should visit.

This boutique hotel is located in downtown Frankfort, MI. Lake Michigan is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, which is a bonus!

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE HOTEL FRANKFORT

The Restaurant:

Getting food at the hotel was so convenient and an unexpected bonus. Our room was located on the main floor, so the restaurant was very easy to locate. Quite honestly, the food was my favorite part! I ordered the Parmesan crusted Whitefish with a side of steamed vegetables. Sean ordered the steak dinner, which came smothered in onions + mushrooms, with a side of steamed vegetables. We loved each and every bite we took at The Hotel Frankfort & Restaurant! The staff were so helpful and friendly.

Beach + Lake Access

As I mentioned earlier, you’re only 5 minutes away from the beach and Lake Michigan. Across the street from the hotel is another body of water with a ton of cute boats (perfect for Instagram pictures)! The location is truly special and we took full advantage of it- that’s for sure. There’s also a brewery down the road and lots of stores to explore. Another bonus about Frankfort is how close you are to other attractions like the Betsy lighthouse, golf courses, and more!

Comfortable Beds

Since my bed at home is so comfy, I often find it hard adjusting to hotel beds. At the Hotel Frankfort, this was not an issue! Our Luxury King Suite had the comfiest bed I could’ve asked for. Sean also approved!

Unique Rooms

Each room is unique in its own way! We stayed in: The Barn Star Luxury King which was one of the nicer options at the hotel (10/10 would recommend). Our room was the perfect size for the two of us and we had no trouble getting comfy & cozy. We even had a jacuzzi tub in our room! They offer tons of room options between their traditional and luxury queen + king suites. 

On-Site Wine Cellar AND Bar

This is the perfect spot for group trips or a romantic getaway. The beer was amazing and the wine cellar looked so historical! They offer wine tastings and alcoholic flights that will easily add more fun to your trip. The Hotel Frankfort Restaurant is also partnered with Ludington Brewing Company, so they carry a ton of their craft options on tap. Their hotel also features a cute little gift shop!

Spectacular Staff

The staff made us feel welcomed from the start! Check-in was a breeze, which often doesn’t happen with my luck. They were knowledgeable about the hotel and gave great suggestions for local things to do!! I would say the staff definitely made our stay that much better.
