Hi friends!

I’m so happy to be writing this short post to give you all a quick life update. Recently, we found out where S’ next work rotation will be and let me say… it’s been quite hard holding it all in. First, I wanted to give some hints. Big city, known for being windy, and located in the Midwest. If you guessed CHICAGO, you’re correct!

We’re Moving to Chicago!

Never in a million years did I think I would be saying those words, but here we are. Being a city girl was always a dream of mine, even if I lived there for a short period of time. Now, I get to live there for at least 6 months. This means, we’ll be able to experience about 3 seasons total (how exciting)! Shortly after finding out where we’d be relocating, we went apartment hunting which involved S doing lots of virtual tours on his lunch breaks. We also started figuring out what we could afford in the city within our budget.

Apartment Lease = Completed + Signed!!!

We found a nice place, but honestly could have searched for much longer.. There are SO many choices in the city and different neighborhoods to look at and consider. We decided on a 2 BR, 1 Bath apartment/home. Our landlords will live above us and cut us such a great deal. We’re actually getting more space at our new place and all updated appliances. The outside of our home is completely gated, so feeling safe shouldn’t be an issue either!

Three things I’m most excited for at our new place:

• A WHITE kitchen with an island
• The spa-like shower head in our bathroom
• Having a tree in our front yard to attract/feed birds

Of course, I plan to give you all more updates once we move. Our plan is to get movers to help us load all of our things into a moving truck and take the rest on by ourselves. I know for a fact I wouldn’t be able to move all of our furniture down 3 flights of stairs, so I’m thankful we’ll have movers this time around! We’ll have a moving truck, a trailer for my car, and S’ Jeep. Hoping there’s no snow by the time we leave, but luckily the drive is only about 3 hours from where we currently stay in Wisconsin.
